Who is behind Redshifted?

My name is Anna Elisabetta Borea, and I am an astrophysicist and a teacher. I earned my master’s degree in Astrophysics and Cosmology at the University of Bologna, and I currently study the interstellar medium of quasars at the end of the Epoch of Reionization, when the first lights were finishing lighting up the dark Universe.

Redshifted was born from the desire to share the study of the cosmos and its mysteries, guiding readers to places where reality begins to grow terribly strange. The name comes from cosmological redshift, which tinges the light of distant galaxies with red as space expands.

Get ready for a journey into the darkest depths of the Universe: among stellar ghosts, cosmic fossils and rifts in spacetime where the laws of physics seem to waver, but curiosity does not surrender.

Therefore, “custodite ogne speranza, voi ch’intrate” (“keep all hope, ye who enter here”)! For even in its icy heart, the Universe hides a form of ancestral love that gathers what space scatters and turns it into stars and worlds. And perhaps Dante was more right than he imagined: è “l’amor che move il sole e l’altre stelle” (“the love that moves the sun and the other stars”). That faceless love that physics calls gravity.
